Chapter 1: You're Too Evil; The Demonic Sect Doesn't Welcome You!

【The Righteous Path? Evil Cultivators Are So Much Faster!】

【No Saints Need Apply; Good for Both of Us. The Protagonist Is Single-Mindedly Evil, Specializing in Demonic and Crooked Ways, Doing Things Without Restraint!】

【Light and Comedic Tone.】

"Chu Sheng, you're too evil; the Demonic Sect doesn't welcome you!"

Outside the mountain gate of the Heavenly Demon Sect, a blood-soaked boy of fifteen or sixteen years old was escorted out by several black-robed figures. To be precise, he was thrown out.

The boy rolled three times across the ground, scrambled up in a disheveled state, patted the dust off himself, his face screaming wronged.

The black-robed elder in charge of the examination clutched his chest, his face turning pale:

"I've cultivated the Demonic Path for over three hundred years, performed countless acts of vivisection and organ extraction, but never have I seen anything like what you've done... classifying corpses by organ and labeling them 'left kidney', 'right lung lobe', 'complete small intestine with mesentery'... it's absolutely deranged!"

Chu Sheng blinked, attempting an explanation:

"Senior, this is scientific dissection, helpful for understanding human body structure so that when casting spells in the future, I can strike vital points with precision..."

"Shut your mouth!"

The elder's finger trembled.

"That corpse belonged to an outer disciple of our sect before death. Though the examination permits disposing of corpses, what you did was simply... far too cruel!"

The other demonic prodigies queued for their examinations burst into laughter.

"Did you hear? This kid scared the Heavenly Demon Sect itself!"

"The Demonic Sect says he's too evil, hahahaha!"

"I heard he even completely peeled off the brain and set up some kind of brain storage facility, classifying by function..."

Chu Sheng sighed, shouldered his small bundle, and trudged down the mountain with drooping shoulders.

Could this be blamed on him?

In his previous life, he was at least a proper medical school honors graduate, though admittedly he ended up stabbed to death by angry patients...

This ending certainly wasn't very positive.

But his professional knowledge remained!

In this life, he was born in a place called the Jin Kingdom, where various cultivating forces lorded over the common people.

A year ago, when he awakened his Past Life Memory, he hadn't slept for three days from excitement.

Reborn, he decided not to follow the old path. What nonsense about hanging one's pot to heal the wounded, the benevolent heart of a physician—all of it could go to hell!

He would become a thoroughly evil villain, join the strongest Demonic Sect in the Jin Kingdom, and make everyone tremble at his name!

So what happened?

The Demonic Sect said he was too cruel.

"This generation of the Demonic Sect isn't up to snuff."

Chu Sheng muttered as he walked.

"Whatever happened to committing all evils? Whatever happened to blood-soaked seas? Can't even handle dissecting a corpse—their psychological quality is just too poor."

The problem was that to come to the Heavenly Demon Sect, he'd sold his family's three acres of poor farmland and an old ox back home.

Return to the village now?

Not only would the landlord refuse to return his fields, but the villagers would probably laugh their teeth off: word was the little Chu boy was going to become a Demon Lord, but the Demonic Sect rejected him!

"Between heaven and earth, there's nowhere for me, Chu Sheng, to belong..."

The boy looked up at the sky, grief welling up.

Then his stomach rumbled loudly.

"First priority: solve the food and clothing problem."

.

.

.

Five days later, in Yinshan City, a hundred meters away.

"Kid, what's your name? Why do you want to join our Xiongfeng Bandit Camp?"

A broad-faced, bald giant examined Chu Sheng.

Chu Sheng straightened his posture and did his best to look fierce:

"This one is Chu Sheng! I've sworn to become the greatest villain under heaven! Hearing that Xiongfeng Bandit Camp has a notorious reputation far and wide, I've come specially to seek refuge!"

The bald giant stroked his chin:

"An evil person? You look so delicate and soft..."

"Never judge by appearance!"

Chu Sheng hastily said.

"I once performed excellently in the Heavenly Demon Sect's examination, even earning praise from the demonic seniors...uh...exceptional talent."

This wasn't exactly false, though what they'd actually said was "you little punk are too twisted."

The bald giant's name was Wang Xiong, the Third-in-Command of Xiongfeng Bandit Camp.

He looked Chu Sheng up and down, and suddenly his eyes lit up:

"Delicate and soft...not bad, not bad. Our Camp Master just loves types like you. Come with me!"

At the time, Chu Sheng didn't understand what ‘the Camp Master loves types like you’ meant.

Not until he met the Camp Master—

A hulking man weighing three hundred catties, with a round face and bushy whiskers, staring at him with a gaze that gave him goosebumps—did Chu Sheng suddenly realize.

"Preference for young men?!"

Chu Sheng's inner thoughts roared.

My luck is absolutely terrible!

"Little brother, come come come, sit next to the Camp Master,"

Camp Master Zhao Dahu patted his own thigh.

Chu Sheng looked at that thigh, which was thicker than his own waist, and forced a smile:

"Camp Master, I...I'm fine standing."

"Why the shyness!"

Zhao Dahu laughed heartily.

"From now on you're one of us! We'll hold a welcoming feast tonight!"

That very night, Chu Sheng understood his situation.

Either surrender to the Camp Master, or be thrown off the mountain.

And with only three copper coins remaining to his name, he'd likely starve to death once down the mountain.

"Calm down, Chu Sheng, calm down."

He told himself.

"You're supposed to be someone determined to become a great Demon Lord—how can you be tripped up by such a trivial obstacle?"

So he began his maneuvering.

"Camp Master, I actually... deeply admire you."

As Chu Sheng spoke these words, his stomach churned violently.

"But I believe such an important moment should have a grand and lavish wedding, worthy of your mighty reputation."

Zhao Dahu's eyes lit up:

"A wedding?"

"Exactly! Eight-bearer sedan chairs, ten-li red dowry, inviting heroes from all directions!"

Chu Sheng became more animated as he spoke.

"I want everyone to know that I, Chu Sheng, belong to you!"

Zhao Dahu was delighted beyond measure and immediately ordered preparations for the wedding.

This gave Chu Sheng precious seven days.

.

.

.

Within seven days, Chu Sheng accomplished three things:

First, with his remaining three copper coins and glib tongue, he obtained some medicinal herbs and, using his previous life's knowledge, concocted a potent knockout drug.

Second, he figured out the location of the treasury in the camp and the guard rotation schedule.

Third, every day he spoke sweet words to Zhao Dahu, coaxing the Camp Master into bliss, with increasingly lax supervision over him.

On the night of the wedding, Xiongfeng Bandit Camp was decorated with lanterns and streamers, bustling with activity.

"Congratulations to the Camp Master!"

"The groom is so handsome!"

Chu Sheng wore a bright red wedding garment, smiling on his face while calculating the drug's effects in his mind.

After three rounds of drinks, he stood and raised his cup:

"Brothers, Chu Sheng toasts you all! Thank you for your care these past days!"

Everyone raised their cups and drank heartily, no one noticing that Chu Sheng didn't actually drink from his own cup.

A quarter hour later.

Thump!

The first person collapsed.

Thump! Thump!

One after another, the people at the feast fell like felled trees.

Zhao Dahu shook his head, his eyes growing hazy:

"Little beauty... this wine of yours... is quite strong..."

Upon finishing these words, the three-hundred-catty giant collapsed with a thunderous crash, snoring like rolling thunder.

Chu Sheng immediately changed out of his wedding garments, donned the black clothes he'd prepared beforehand, and rushed straight to the treasury.

A quarter hour later, with a bulging bundle on his back, he slipped toward the camp gate.

After some thought, he turned back, heading to the kitchen where he lit a fire.

"Do things thoroughly,"

He muttered to himself with a nod.

"Burn it all, rob it all—that's the true nature of an evil person."

As flames began to rise, Chu Sheng didn't look back as he descended the mountain.

After walking three meters, he turned to look back. Above Black Wind Mountain, firelight shot into the sky as Xiongfeng Bandit Camp was engulfed in flames.

"Amitabha Buddha..."

Chu Sheng unconsciously murmured a prayer, then immediately slapped himself.

"Pfft! I'm a villain! Villains must be ruthless and merciless!"

But watching those sky-reaching flames, he felt a bit anxious:

"Hopefully no one died... my knockout drug's dosage was well-controlled, and I started the fire from the outer areas..."

After three seconds of internal conflict, he shook his head and continued on his way.

"Not thinking about it! I'm now a fugitive bandit with stolen goods, a ruthless and vicious criminal!"

.

.

.

Five days later, in Yinshan City, the nearest metropolis, Chu Sheng sat in a teahouse with a crumpled map spread before him.

"The strongest Demonic Sect in the Jin Kingdom won't have me, so I can only settle for second best..."

He stroked his chin, eyes scanning the map.

Suddenly, his finger stopped at one location.

"The Taiyi Gate...the leader of the Righteous Path in the Jin Kingdom, the greatest sect under heaven."

A bold idea emerged.

"Since the Demonic Path says I'm too evil, surely the Righteous Path won't mind me being kind, right? If I join the Taiyi Gate, cultivate bitterly for years, then suddenly expose my demonic nature and stir up a storm of blood and wind within the Righteous Path... wouldn't that be more thrilling than joining a Demonic Sect directly?"

Chu Sheng was stunned by his own genius idea.

"That's it! I'll be an undercover agent! A great Demon Lord lurking within the Righteous Path! That's way cooler than being an ordinary Demon Lord!"

The more he thought about it, the more excited he became. He immediately made his decision:

"Off to the Taiyi Gate!"
