Everyone in the Barrage Says I’m Part of the Script Team
Synopsis
Kiyohara Jun is a Port Mafia quasi-executive with a naturally gloomy, world-weary face. One day, he suddenly gains the ability to see floating “bullet comments” in the air—basically audience comments that reveal hidden plot information. Because the comments keep exposing major secrets around him, Jun accidentally appears as if he has already deduced everything.
At the new Port Mafia boss’s inauguration, the comments make him realize the truth behind the old boss’s death. When he casually notices a passerby in a fur hat, the comments identify that person as a dangerous “Demon.” When he sees Bourbon working at Café Poirot, the comments expose Bourbon’s hidden identity. Each time, Jun is only reacting to information the comments gave him, but everyone around him misunderstands him as a mastermind-level “scriptwriter group” character—someone who can see through every scheme.
The story follows Jun as he is forced into the role of a genius strategist, while the bullet comments become his cheat-like advantage. Beneath the comedic misunderstanding setup, the novel also focuses on his growth: Jun gradually opens up from childhood trauma, gains friends, improves his abilities, and learns what it means to truly protect others. The tone is described as light, warm, and satisfying.
